JOURNAL
President’s Message - CVA Spring Equinox 2026

I want to welcome all of you to the 2026 Spring Equinox CVA Journal. This edition features articles by two CVA members. Both articles explore the Rahu/Ketu axis. Sandra Hayes gifts us with her first appearance in the CVA journal with “Rahu and Ketu: The Soul’s Journey from Exile to Integration”. You will find her novel approach to the Nodes is engaging and satisfying.  Next up- Robert Koch returns with another masterful delineation with his analysis of “Shakti Yoga”. The Shakti Yoga is found in Maharishi Jaimini’s “Upadesha Sutras”. Robert reveals the great power of destruction that is found with Shakti Yoga in the charts of extraordinary saints and sinners alike.

Marianne Jacuzzi’s “Equinox to Equinox” this time takes us on a longer historical vantage point with an incisive astrological assessment of the times in which we now live. Dr. Bruce Davis concludes the articles in this journal with an interview with CVA member, Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar. His interview also explores Dr. Kshirsagar recently published book-“Awakened Sleep” which you will undoubtedly want to order once you have finished digesting this remarkable interview.

It is with sadness that that I mark the passing of my friend, colleague and CVA board member, Michael Alberts. Michael transitioned last year in late October of 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones and family. I had the precious gift of knowing Michael for a Jupiter return. He had a footing and strong presence in several different philosophical and astrological communities, and we were blessed to have his presence in our community lending his impressive technological expertise on behalf of the CVA journal and website.

Michael leaves his beloved wife Amy, and a legacy of many friends in the many communities in which he participated. As part of Michael’s legacy, the CVA is offering The Michael Alberts Scholarship. The scholarship is in the amount of two $1000 awards that will be awarded to two CVA members in good standing for study with a recognized CVA professional member. Please contact CVA’s officers, myself and Marianne Jacuzzi regarding this scholarship.

Lastly, the CVA will hold elections at the end of this year when ballots will be sent to membership to elect a new CVA board. All seven positions on the CVA board are up election. This includes five directors of the board, and two officers- president and vice-president. Qualifications to be nominated as a director require the person to be a current member of the CVA, in good standing for a year. Qualifications to be nominated for an officer require the person to be a current member of the CVA in good standing and a current or prior director, or officer of the CVA. Qualified individuals who wish to run for election will submit a letter of self-nomination and two additional letters of sponsorship from any current CVA member in good standing to the CVA board before the end of the year. Neither directors nor officers may serve on the CVA board while concurrently serving on the board of another astrological organization.

Like so many other non-profit organizations these days, the CVA needs new and enthusiastic nominees who share the vision and goals of the CVA. Please contact any CVA board member if you are interested in running for the board.

Sincerely,

Dennis Flaherty

President CVA
