JOURNAL
President’s Message - CVA Fall Equinox 2025

by Dennis Flaherty

Welcome to the 2025 CVA Fall Journal. This journal’s articles are dedicated to the theme of Vedic astrology and self-development. The serious study of Jyotisha leads ultimately to the knowledge of self. To paraphrase the classic texts: If you wish to know your personal purpose consult a Vedic astrologer!

Bruce Davis starts the self-development dialogue with his insightful Western Spiritual Direction Meets Vedic Astrology. Bruce’s article speaks eloquently to the spiritual seeker in all of us. His interview of Linda Callanan; a long standing CVA member, is exceptional and engaging in exploring Linda’s path as a practicing humanistic Vedic astrologer. Again, it speaks to all who find growth and self-understanding through Vedic astrology, as revealed through her remarkable journey as a practicing humanistic Vedic astrologer.

Marianne Jacuzzi’s bi-annual Equinox to Equinox column begins with a prosaic discussion of the nine- day Indian Navaratri this fall. Marianne further expounds on next year’s multi planetary alignment in Capricorn, as well as detailing the unsettling solar and lunar eclipses in February and March of 2026. Marianne’s compelling contribution to this journal,Vedic Astrology: Authentic Self-Development Starts Here poignantly completes the trifecta, dovetailing with Bruce’s article and Linda’s interview.

Join me in a community shout out to CVA board members Bruce Davis and Marianne Jacuzzi! On behalf of our community thank you both for your tireless and timeless contributions to our community and this special edition of the CVA Journal.

In gratitude,

Dennis Flaherty
